A Bit About Bitwad Entertainment

Our purpose is to develop and release video games that pull at that nostalgia a lot of us have for our favourite games of the past. Unique, yet retro, complete experiences that transport you back to the past, at least on an aesthetic level.

Starting with Xero Hour for iOS and Android in 2020, Bitwad Entertainment will continue developing games that fit their vision of a retro future.

The goal with Xero Hour was to create a retro 8Bit inspired visual but with simple controls for mobile devices.

Avoiding clunky, imprecise “virtual joystick” controls was a must. If it can’t be done with one tap, it gets axed.

Therefor we ended up with two main play modes using simple one touch controls. Running, and Defending.

Using the environment itself to navigate, we created a unique experience over an entirely retro look and feel.

Origin Story

Bitwad Entertainment Ltd. was founded in 2020 by Justin Bender, for the purpose of developing and publishing games, starting with Xero Hour for iOS and Android platforms. 

Justin also plays guitar for the bands Third Ion, and Sorceress, and is the owner and head audio engineer at Divergent Sounds.
